TOOLBOX

Some of the Tools in our Toolbox

A variety of "extras" are useful for websites. Here are a few that we find helpful in certain cases:

Show it on a Map!

  • When the location helps tell the story, show your activities on a map. Can be local, regional, national, or worldwide.
  • Visitors can click to see details, or zoom in/zoom out with their mouse. See examples!
  • Easily update the map whenever the information changes!

Let Clients Schedule Themselves

  • Avoid the scheduling frustration. Just set up your availability, and let people choose their time slots.
  • Put your other activities on your private calendar, and conflicting appointment slots won't be offered to others.
  • We have several different options, including the one you see on our own contact page.

QR Codes for your printed materials

  • Anyone with a smartphone can go straight to the page you choose - use on business cards, signs, and more
  • The QR code can include your logo or other image if you want
  • Go ahead... point your smartphone's camera at the QR code here - then set up a time to talk on the page you'll see!

Get and Send Email from Your Domain

Let's face it... using one of those free email services that have nothing to do with your business is like using a phone booth (remember those?) for your business telephone.

We can help with a variety of services that will give you an email address like yourname@yourbusiness.com.

Show Visitors that Others are Interested too!

  • You have seen it on many other sites -- a noticeable but unobtrusive series of notices that appears at the bottom of the screen, even as visitors scroll, such as you see at the bottom on this screen.
  • Notices can show the first name of recent signups, promotion(s) you want to announce, recent 4-5 star Google reviews, and more.

Website Accessibility

Are you turning 10-25% of your target audience away? That many people use the web differently than you might expect. Just for example, they may employ screen readers, require greater color contrast between page elements, and/or rely on additional visual cues for page navigation.

We can implement the accessibility solution used by The Motley Fool, Tony Robbins, Duke University, Jenny Craig, Amnesty International, and over a million other websites.

Are you required to be "accessible"?

Privacy Policy (It's the law!)

To avoid privacy related fines and lawsuits, almost every website not only needs a Privacy Policy on their site but they need a strategy to keep it up to date as laws change. This might be through their own lawyer, or with a service that monitors privacy laws and updates website privacy policies when new laws go into effect.  (See our privacy policy for an example.)

We work with Termageddon, the only Privacy Policy generator listed as a trusted vendor by the IAPP.org, an organization consisting of 60,000 privacy attorneys and professionals.

Weather reports on your website

These are so 1990's... please don't ask!

That is, unless people visiting your business really need to know what the weather will be like.

In that case, it can be a good idea, and we're glad to help!  See a couple of examples, showing the weather at our office locations.
